Program Goals and Objectives

The goal of the Imagine Intensive Outpatient Program is to support the adolescent and family in obtaining and maintaining ongoing recovery support from addiction and other self-defeating behaviors. We believe that successful treatment depends upon involvement and cooperation among the client, program staff and the parents/guardians.

Clients complete assignments from the START Recovery™ curriculum which help

  1. a.identify that a problem exists,

  2. b. develop a plan and begin to take action,

  3. c. maintain behavior change and eliminate effects of the problem,

  4.      and correspond with the 12 Steps of recovery.

Imagine utilizes a creative approach to examining treatment issues. Music, art, storytelling, meditation and other experiential modalities create an interesting and relaxed atmosphere which lowers resistance to treatment and leads to a more sincere level of client participation.

Program Description and Hours of Operation

Level System: Measurable progress

A specially designed level system measures clients’ progress, accounting for both treatment participation and outside 12-Step recovery behaviors. The START Level System provides incentive to accomplish weekly goals, provides clear feedback regarding the client’s progress, and is reinforced through peer support.

Peer Support

Imagine maintains an environment of “Positive Peer Pressure” that motivates clients to succeed. Extensive involvement of aftercare clients provides positive role models and inspiration for primary group clients.

Relapse Prevention

Emphasis is placed on development of a comprehensive Relapse Prevention Plan. Utilizing the Gorski Stages Of Relapse Model, clients learn to identify signs of relapse behavior, triggers, drug refusal skills, and what to do should a relapse occur.
